The Fourth Federal Galactic Republic, known as the Tair Republic, and often simply called the Republic or sometimes the Alliance when evoking nostalgia, was the phase of the continued Galactic Alliance that was formed following the Tair Partition, which in 170 ABY precisely separated the territories of the Fel Empire from those of the Alliance.
History[]
Although it remained the largest galactic government by far, over time, the Republic came to represent just one part of a greater galaxy, coexisting peacefully alongside the Fel Empire, Hutt Space, and other smaller independent monarchies and republics.
The Republic briefly became the Alliance Protectorate, when corrupt Chancellor Ushara Tavlijiis Orrt illegally used Republic resources in favor of the Hutt Cartel. The resulting outcry led to a small war that ended with Ushara's arrest and removal from office.
