Ta'Ri was a female Whiphid and senior Jedi Master on the Jedi High Council in the years leading up to and during the Second Jedi Civil War. During the Remnant Era, she briefly trained a Kalk Padawan named Llaan, who was killed before the war's onset by Trandoshan beast hunters on Mmri.
Concurrent to the war's cataclysmic end, Ta'Ri's Indomitable-class Star Destroyer was engaged in battle with Jedi Exile forces over Sarapin when her ship received heavy fire to the engines and repulsors, causing it to wreck on the rocky volcanic surface of the planet below. Picking her way through the rubble and realizing she was the only survivor not severely injured in the crash, Ta'Ri began searching for life in the wreckage. When she attempted to tap into the living Force, she found her mental connection twisted and confused.
Eventually learning to live with her predicament but all the while trying at every angle to train herself again, the Jedi remained trapped in exile on Sarapin for the next decade, during which time the few other survivors she found badly wounded died and Ta'Ri slowly began to recover her connection to the Force. Shortly before her recovery by the Jedi Knight Sil Sentarra, she found she could once again use the Force to an extent she had not possessed since the beginning of her exile.
She and Sentarra joined the Republic military as commanders in the wake of the Siege of Maramere, spearheading a hunt for Sith Potentate Darth Vician. Finding the fallen Jedi Exile-turned-Dark Lord of the Sith on Coruscant directly after Vician's assassination of the Black Sun Vigos, the two Jedi engaged and disarmed the Sith. Coruscant Security Forces arrived immediately afterward, and Vician was taken into Republic custody.
Ta'Ri and her friend went on to fight the Shadow Empire into the Outer Rim, participating in the decisive Battle of Murkhana.
